Will drinking wine ruin your training?

NO! While W4R makes no personal health claims, various studies have shown that moderate red wine consumption seems to lower the risk of several diseases, including heart disease, due to the polyphenol content.

Polyphenols are a subset of antioxidants, and exist naturally in plants. Wine’s polyphenols come mainly from the skins. As a whole, red wine’s polyphenol content has been praised by wellness-conscious drinkers, but there are also specific polyphenols in red wine that have been studied individually for their potential health benefits.

Because runners tend to be in better shape than people who do little to no exercise, moderate wine consumption (1-2 glasses per day) can easily fit into their dietary parameters and complement a healthy lifestyle.
